Foothill Sheepherder metal print by Jane Thorpe.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Artist's Description

I prefer an 8 x 10 panel for plein air painting. The Foothills are so massive compared to a small flock of sheep that a larger format was needed. And the compostion changed, and the mood of brooding foothills entered in. A new and different painting emerged, not just a larger one. It gave me more room to capture the slope of field and diversity of flora, and the trainer and her dog. It was wonderful to watch them while I painted.

About Jane Thorpe

Jane Thorpe

Jane was born and raised in Stratford, CT. Her father was a self-employed commercial artist who worked at home, which gave her access to both supplies and encouragement. She moved to California in 1973. Jane has been an artist all her life, working in different mediums and working at a variety of commercial art jobs. She earned a degree in Fine Art and says there is always more to learn. She started plein air painting in the 1980’s in watercolor. Since 2010, she has focused on plein air painting in oil. She finds that all the mediums she has worked in, all the jobs she’s held, all her life experience, all contribute to this latest passion.
