Artist's Description

This year was my third Rancho Camulos Paint Out. Interesting buildings, beautiful gardens, historical and current agricultural subjects, and vistas. What did I paint? The old two-tone truck out back, beyond the fence, parked with the last load of discarded brick. Old trucks catch my eye, both shiny restored trucks and those with the patina of age, weathered by the elements of decades. The first year at Rancho Camulos I painted a red truck parked under a dilapidated shed roof, also inspired by its patina. This year's truck has style: two-toned, and stylish lines. I asked my husband, then googled some pictures, and figure it may be a 1962 Chevy. I like to think it will be pressed into service again as historic buildings on site are restored and more debris is dumped out back. It is parked, waiting for work.
